I went to take some reference photos for some commissioned work I need to do. On the property was an old barn. The green in the canopy caught my eye.
I decided to add it in my sketchbook. I have a hard time making things look old and worn out. It takes layers of colors and lots of lines. I still haven't quite mastered the technique, but I'm happy with my results.
It's true that no matter what the subject is, when you take the time to draw it, it becomes interesting. Even something old and dilapidated can make a beautiful piece of art.
